About the artist
Jake Parry, PKA unperson, is a sonic art student from Sheffield, currently residing in London.
After first producing a self-released mini-LP on cassette, unperson moved to Only Ruins, a Bristol/Brighton imprint championing emerging UK centric techno producers, releasing his debut EP ONRU002 in October, 2018.
Lead single, Drift, with a breakbeat backbone and off-centre topline, quickly picked up DJ support from the likes of Cera Khin, Troy Gunner & 96 Black, illuminating guest mixes and dance-floors worldwide that soon caught the attention of Negative Space [Ma] Records.
The forthcoming EP - ‘The Ghosts That Gave’ - will be released via Negative Space [Ma] scheduled for March 2020, launching a new sonic chapter for the enigmatic producer as he flexes between ambient, techno, breakbeat and footwork across the 6 tracks.
Framed around the concept of juxtaposing moments of euphoria and melancholy found within club music, The Ghosts That Gave EP manages to delicately express fluctuating emotions whilst maintaining a dance-floor sensibility, unsurprising gathering early support from the likes of Rush Hour staple Hunee, Hessle Audio affiliate Bruce, and new Radio 1 Resident Saoirse.
unperson also runs a monthly radio show on 1020 Live, presenting some of the freshest experimental and ambient tracks seeping through the UK underground electronic scene.
