Poly Scattergood is looking for a developer to realise this app concept.
Idea from the artist
The first track to be released from it is entitled “Sphere”, of which Polly says, “The world “Sphere” lives in is that of a snowglobe, a world within a world, a glass womb.
It’s describing a very intimate deeply personal moment but in the setting of a snowglobe, a glass sphere that everyone can look into and shake without really knowing how it affects the characters inside, as they just watch while the snow settles and the figures stay the same.
I was inspired by the work of Kent Rogowski and in particular his “future perfect” project, in which he made a series of snow globes showing private and intimate moments encapsulated within each one.
Like a photograph, the narrative is only suggested, leaving the conclusion up to the viewer.
His work really captured my imagination and I tried to create something which sonically reflected this sentiment and feeling for the listener.
What they're looking for
We'd like an app with the album artwork and stems from each track where you go to your smartphone, open the app, shake your phone, and cause the stems to “land”, like snow in a snowglobe, as above, in a particular way to give the listener a never-ending stream of unique music each time they go back to it?
The music settles, like the snow, each time you do this.
This could just be a mobile web browser kind of thing rather than an actual app if that would work better.
