Deliver
Music video to be shot in London for post-punk band's next single

[COMMISSIONER] has an exciting opportunity for a music video director or short film-maker to take part in creating an official video for post-punk band [ARTIST] new single [TRACK], due for release on Sept 16.

We're going live with a lyric video on release, and are wanting an official video ready for release on Oct 14.

[ARTIST] are an Australian band and a priority signing to [COMMISSIONER]. This single forms part of their debut album (unannounced) due for release early next year.

REFERENCES
Since the band are unable to be in the video, we are after a video brief that lends itself to the band aesthetic telling the story of the song.

Ideally, we would like you to listen to the song and let your mind tell the story of what you visualise when listening to it.

Location
London (Shoreditch/Camden)

The band are all based in Sydney, Australia so this film clip will be without the band. The UK is a key territory for the band, and since we're all in lockdown in Sydney, we thought why not have the video shot in London!

We're keen for this to be filmed in locations like Shoreditch and Camden outside so it needs to be obvious to the viewer that the video was shot in London.

We have enlisted 3rd party publicity in the UK to start breaking ground over there. This video will be pitched for online premieres at online music publishers such as - Dork, DIY, Clash, The Quietus, Loud & Quiet, So Young.

DELIVERABLES
We are looking for a full official music video to be delivered

We are also looking for the video to be cut down into vertical vids for social sharing/teasing (no more than 3 x 10sec vids)

Location

This global brief is open to all applicants, regardless of location.

We Direct Music Videos

In line with We Direct Music Videos' guidelines, CC does not allow free pitching and applicants are not expected to submit any treatments at the pre-commission stage of the briefing process.

Our goal is to push for improvements in the music video process to be more respectful, transparent, and minimize free work on behalf of the thousands of music video directors our organization represents. Find out more
WDMV

This fairer process is designed to ensure that commissioners receive a sufficient amount of creative options to select from, while reducing the time directors spend pitching.

Therefore we limit the number of shortlisted directors invited to complete a treatment to a maximum of five.

Once you have applied to this brief, you will be notified after the application deadline whether you have been shortlisted to progress to the next phase.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a treatment, which typically consists of a written outline of the video concept and how it will be executed plus images and reference videos, submitted as a PDF.
