Next Tuesday (20th May) sees the return of Cover Club, a night dedicated to celebrating great design within the music industry.
The last event featured legendary artist Terry Pastor, most famous for his work on David Bowie’s albums Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust.
Tuesday’s guest speaker is the hugely talented and prolific Art Director, Matt De Jong.
Matt has been responsible for some of the most exciting album artwork and campaigns of late. He was worked with the likes of Cat Power, Deerhunter, The Maccabeees, Vampire Weekend and most recently Paulo Nutini.
Cover Club is held at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch from 20:00 and is run by some very good friends of ours. The night is completely free, yes FREE, so if you’re nearby there’s no excuse not to pop down and hear Matt delve into stories from working with some of the current music industry’s big characters.
The night will be soundtracked by Matt’s childhood friends Orlando Weeks of The Maccabees and Lionel Skerratt - co-founder of Public Information Records.
After the chat, Matt will also be selling some very limited edition prints at an event-only price. You’ll find the Creative Commission team at the front of that queue.
See you there!
