Louis Crehan is an Artist Manager at TEN TWELVE Management whose roster currently includes Josh Barry

Here's our recent chat with Louis to discuss his favourite campaigns in 2020 and talk about the overlaps between visual creativity and music.

I’m currently working on Josh’s first EP release. The lead single All Add Up came out in October and the EP is coming spring ’21. It’s a first for both of us so it’s a huge learning experience, but it’s one I’m absolutely loving and can’t wait to see what happens.

CHECK OUT

Creatively at the moment I’m loving Parcels. Their whole aesthetic on and off the stage, is so unique it’s kind of hard to describe, think 60’s/70’s, but it transcends just fashion, it’s a genuine lifestyle for them. A 30-second scroll on their Instagram and you’ll get it. Not to mention their live show, it’s genuinely incredible and I cannot recommend it enough.

FAVOURITE VIDEO

My all time favourite music video is without a doubt Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication. I remember so vividly watching this on MTV as a kid, absolutely fascinated by the video game. I still want to play that shark level so badly!

BEST ARTWORK

I’ve always loved the album art for Childish Gambino Awaken, My Love. The cool blue headpiece and rolled-back eyes, it’s so eye-catching and that for me is what makes great artwork, being able to grab your attention, amongst hundreds of other covers. The album bangs too, which definitely helps.

CAMPAIGN OF 2020

The best creative campaign this year has been Dermot Kennedy. In all honesty, I’ve been so engulfed with my own artists’ campaign, that I haven’t really been following too many others that closely, but I’m a huge Dermot Kennedy fan and thought the live stream from the Natural History Museum was a really cool concept.

VIDEO OF THE YEAR

For me the most creative and original music video of the year is Drake Laugh Now, Cry Later. The Nike athlete cameos and 1 of 1 concept Mercedes Maybach, only Drake could make that happen.

LOGO LOVE

I wish I’d designed the artist logo for Odd Future. The pink doughnuts!

COLLABORATION

The most recent brand collab that caught my eye was outside of music, but Nike X Colin Kaepernick was sick! The close-up headshot with the caption “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything!” So good from them and rings so true in 2020

GO FOLLOW

The artists you should follow on Instagram are Parcels and Josh Barry (shameless plug, but has to be done!).

ICONIC PHOTOGRAPHY

The most iconic music photograph is Tupac & Suge Knight in the car on the night of his death; a memorable photo for me personally and a picture that is so clear in my mind.
