37º was founded by Nick Myers in 2018 as a songwriter, producer and artist management company. The roster includes Maths Time JoyLinden Jay, Jay PryorJonas AdenSillkeyNovodor, rrotik, Joe WarrinerEdward CarlileFARR and has achieved in excess of a billion streams across co-writes, productions and artist releases.

Here's our recent chat with Nick to discuss his favourite campaigns in 2020 and talk about the overlaps between visual creativity and music.

I’m currently working on launching a record label. Watch out for Fast Friends in 2021. Huge shout out to Davide Venti who is a key team member at 37º and is integral to all of our activities.

Check out

Creatively at the moment, I’m loving all the Verzuz series of battles on Instagram. The Brandy vs Monica episode is a favourite with so much nostalgia yet presented in a very 2020 format, giving these stars, who in their heyday, didn't have direct-to-fan social media platforms, the opportunity to let their real personalities shine through.

Favourite video

My all-time favourite music video is Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim. It's a beautiful concoction of cinematic Hollywood glitz and glamour, dancing like nobody's watching, flying, escapism, and of course a banging classic Fatboy Slim record.

Best artwork

I’ve always loved the album art for Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon . It's become an iconic piece of art in its own right and will help the album and band continue to be discovered by new generations far into the future.

Campaign of 2020

The best creative campaign this year has been BTS's livestream concert Bang Bang Con that took place in June and the eye-watering estimated $20 million income it generated and 750k+ tickets sold.

Best collaboration

The most recent brand collab that caught my eye was Havana Club x Skepta. I love that it has a very worthy socially conscious angle with it being only made available in corner shops to support local communities during these testing times.

Video of the year

For me the most creative and original music video of the year is Duck Sauce Mesmerize. It's a really fun parody of a stereotypical house record video coupled with lots of inappropriate and ridiculous animations. It's something to look back on at this period when there were no clubs open or festivals at which they could film anything together for it and appreciate that they could still do something really creative and interesting. I also admire that at 50 this year, Armand Van Helden is still pushing boundaries and hope I will be too.

Logo love

I wish I’d designed the artist logo for Nirvana. The playful smiley with the stuck-out tongue is enduring and iconic.

Go follow

The one artist you should follow on Instagram is Nina Nesbitt. She has really engaged and built up her audience on social media this year with such creative and often amusing content that oozes personality.

Iconic

The most iconic music photograph is an image of Daft Punk's 2006 Sahara Tent performance, a performance that changed the perception and trajectory of electronic music in the US forever.
