Micro (twist)

The sound for this video was producd by Juj ( https://soundcloud.com/juj/mi… ). I was introduced to Juj's work by Arthur Chance of Bones Magazine ( http://bonesmagazine.com ). In this video, a simulation of a 2 dimensional compressible fluid flow is "listening" to Juj's track, and the rate of flow in the horizontal and vertical directions is dependent on the loudness of the left and right channels of the stereo track at the time. A multiscale Turing instability is causing spots and stripes of certain colours and velocities to develop in the flow all the while. At significant changes in the sound track, I have hand picked the parameters of the Turing instability to produce patterns that I have tried to match to my responses to the sound, in a synesthetic way.
