How are Earthquakes and Volcanoes Formed in the Eastern Caribbean

One of a four-part series of animations, this video explains how earthquakes are and the islands of the Eastern Caribbean were formed as well as identifies the islands with active volcanoes there.

During this series’ production in late 2020 the La Soufrière volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines erupted. This prompted North Eleven to fasttrack animation development. The videos were then release in order of information priority to those most affected.

Effusive eruptions began at La Soufrière on 27 December 2020. On 9 April 2021 there was an explosive eruption, explosive eruptions continued for several days with pyroclastic flows. The island is still on alert at the time of this upload in September 2021.
