'Les Enfants Terribles' - My University Final Major Project "Constantly in creative pursuit of the ‘Enfant Terrible’ spirit, my work aims to showcase fashion as an art form and spotlight the subject as a performance piece. Celebrating the illusion and imagination of characterisation, the worlds of narrative and reference inspire me to approach surreal aesthetics of fantasy and theatre. I approach each photograph as if a biosphere into a curious world of extra-ordinary rebellious spirit. Whether focused upon the story of the chosen designer’s collection, or the alter-ego of the reimagined subject, the drama and energy of storytelling has always been the most important detail to me as a practitioner. My ambition to create exciting and culturally long-lasting artistic imagery derives from a nostalgic recollection from the maximalism fashion movement of the 1990s. With deconstructive club kid sabotage reimagining original aesthetics, resourcefulness was championed and romanticism was flaunted, with final works being more than just an image on a screen. Today, these times act as a guiding inspiration in my process of conceptualisation.
