Two of my favourite photos from some of the amazing images we got shooting these new promotional bits for Fraksha. I also added a little behind the scenes shot to show the really simple lighting & gel setup I went for.
I got to shoot with Fraksha when he visited the UK before Christmas, I must say he is a quality chap to be around - funny and an absolute sh*t hot MC too.
What Did I Do for the Grime MC Fraksha?
The idea was he REALLY wanted to step well away from the usual associations with Grime Music, something that was classy, but not over the top bling bling...
Something that harked back to older days and style of bars & clubs you might remember if you are old enough, the sort you COULD smoke in! When Grime began in the UK, this is more the atmosphere you would go see artists in, tiny club/bar back rooms!
So this setting was a familiar situation that could be really identifiable to Fraksha's audience. Perfect
We had a great shoot and got loads of good shots, can't wait for him to return to the UK for another brrraaappp with the camera!
Here is a little about Fraksha from The Source Online:
Fraksha himself has come a long way since growing up on the outskirts of SE London around raves and pirate radio, recording his first mixtape with his group Nine High in his kitchen flat in England. Living in Melbourne since 2006, Fraksha has been responsible for the development of Grime more than anyone else in Australasia over the last decade-plus.
Fraksha has long established himself through consistent quality output and an exceptional live show as the go-to artist when it comes to Grime in the wider Asia-Pacific region.
