Same Ol Mistakes is not your cliche, going back to the same man or repeating the same mistake which may be an unhealthy habit or a detrimental choice. She doesn’t put up with the first man because despite having the aggression that she liked, he carried it out in a toxic manner. So she left, tried out the “perfect” relationship which she was interested in from the initial display of aggression. It wasn’t what she wanted it to be. Through the boredom and along the way, she discovers her true desire for that aggression. Having uncovered more of herself, she accepts it and does what’s best for her. She has now come into contact with a man who carries physical aggression without the toxicity. He is strong and knows what she likes, but they have fun, there is passion within the healthy aspects.
We close the film showing her as a symbol liberation and empowerment, which comes with self-discovery, acceptance and through conscious choice.
