Watching The Worlds Collide Music Video - Rook and the Ravens

A music video I directed, produced and edited for a local Manchester band, based out of Glossop, called Rook and The Ravens.

The Song "Watching the Worlds Collide" is the first single of their latest album released in 2020. The Band put out an advertsiement for someone to create a music video with the brief being limitless, as long as they didnt have to star in said film.

The song itself is about teh idea of the author coming from a point of view seeing friends anf family growing up, settling down having kids whilst yet he continues on with a younger lifestyle and as he then follows suit at a much later time and ends getting teh partner and family he wanted whilst not having to have curtailed his desire to party earlier on, he watches as those people he saw settlign down now falling out of love and out of the life they chose at a far earlier point in thier lives. The be all and end all of it being that he got the best of everything where as others did not.

The idea behind video came from wanting to create a clash of future and present siular to the songwriters tones but not touching on a literal meaning.

The video shows our there characters entering a room to see their respective futures. 2 people with hopes and desires who dont achieve everything they want. Where as a third person with no clear aspirations or direction essentially ended up in happy place regarless of his future.
