Andy is a Writer, Director and Cinematographer, originally from Nottingham, UK. He now works in London.

Andy has a unique approach to his filmmaking where he utilises delicate, lyrical and conceptual viewpoints.

Originally training and working as an artist and photographer this background gave him the foundation for his work today and serves him to interpret a story or an idea in a highly visual way. With sensitivity and empathy towards his characters.

From fine art and photography Andy segued into the role of Director of Photography, quickly working on projects for Omega, Ford, ITV the BBC and independent film productions.

In 2009 Andy was commissioned to write and direct his first film 'This Chair Is Not Me' the success that followed its release has been exceptional, winning top awards at Silver Docs, Super Shorts and Sheffield Doc/Fest film festivals, and was nominated for the Best British Short Film award by the UK Film Council and was runner up in early 2012 for the prestigious Cinema-Eye Honour for filmmaking; losing out to the late Tim Hetherington.

In 2011 & 2012, fresh from this wave of success, Andy completed two more films “I Can Smell The Cordite” which had its successful premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2011 and “If Himmler Played Guitar” which premiered in June 2012 at the famous Silverdocs film festival in the USA. Following this, 'If Himmler Played Guitar' went on to screen at numerous festivals worldwide including the prestigious London Film Festival.

Early in 2012 Andy finished his fourth film, a commission by Film London for the 2012 Dickens bicentenary celebrations, this premiered to critical acclaim at the BFI South Bank and is now part of an exclusive touring package with the British Council, educating communities internationally on the works and themes of Charles Dickens.

Later in 2012 Andy was chosen to be part of the IFEATURES feature film development scheme for the project 'Time and Tide' along with writer Alexandra Wilds and Producer Russell Noon.

Andy has recently completed his latest film project, 'Serious Swimmers', an adaptation of a Michel Faber story, developed and greenlit through the Collabor8te scheme and receiving it's world premiere at the Palm Springs Film Festival in the USA. He is currently in development on a feature film script "The Scent of Dogs' which is pencilled for production in late 2015.

Most recently Andy has won numerous awards for his thought provoking and emotional video 'Dust' which highlights child deaths in London and is currently waiting to release the music video which he Directed and shot for new up and coming band 'Boy Who Brave'.

Andy is also the co-founder of 'We Are Caravan' film production company.
