Over the past 25 years, I’ve been blessed with challenging roles in dynamic and competitive environments.

11 years as an entrepreneur in Design, Marketing + Brand, and Consulting roles; 2 years as an Advertising Sales Director; 3 years as a National Marketing/Sales Manager; 5 years as a Sales/Marketing Manager; and 4 years in Business Development roles.

There are some awards I’m proud of, revenue targets that have been hit out of the park, and a few trips and spills that mark the steep learning curve along the way. I’ve earned valuable skills in the crucible of the design and business development arenas, and I’ve earned some scars that mark the errors in ‘trial and error’.

My strong sales and marketing experience heavily influence my design work in that I'm mindful that the design needs to achieve more than simply be pretty. It needs to be effective too. Something that either sells an idea or evokes a pretty strong emotion. Something that converts interest into opportunity, conversations into currency.

I've learned a great deal over the past 25 years, enough to realise that I'm going to be a student for the rest of my life. I love that. I love that I get to learn as much as I contribute, grow as much as I help others, and to reach beyond my capabilities regardless of how competent or confident I am in my skills and track record.

Having answers is awesome, and I love that I have a lot of them, but it's my ability to find answers that I'm most proud of. It's my imagination, rather than my knowledge, that contributes the most to each project. Each project truly is a blank slate and I trust myself to find the answers.
