My name is Daunya Ma’ani-Hessari, a diverse, dynamic designer, with a natural eye for design currently residing in Pietermaritzburg, KZN, South Africa.

I have an extensive artistic background as well as a passion for Fine Art which I studied at Rhodes University and UKZN. I also did a 6 month Mandarin course in China, and returned to continue working with design. My industry experience comes from learning first-hand from an internationally renowned design firm, One Circle International; where I have been working for the last 7 years. Because of this experience I possess the ability to produce unique and one-of-a-kind designs.

At One-Circle, I have worked with international, national and local brands; supplying design for advertising, branding, website design, product design, and many more. I am proficient in many programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, as well as Wordpress.

In the last 2 years I have developed my own clothing line and art brand, with my original drawings digitally printed on a range of t-shirts, which I sold at various markets, music festivals and locally. In 2017, I began getting involved in the local Live Music scene in Pietermaritzburg, through promotion of events incorporating design, social media, and poster design at a local venue. With this there is usually various pieces of information that needs to be included and therefore a clean, tidy approach is vital; which is a design style that significantly influences my personal perspective on design.

Having an eclectic cultural background and heritage, influences my approach and outlook on design and life & contributes to my overall aesthetic approach to design, ultimately creating pieces that connect to those quirky and unique fragments in people.

Music & art have been two passions of mine that have slowly been intertwined throughout my life. Working alongside them both, and meshing them together brings out a side of my design that I am forever grateful to have stumbled upon.
