Emmet O’Malley’s vibrant and very personal style of portrait photography has been featured in The Scotsman, The Irish Independent, New Noise Magazine, The Skinny and Hot Press Magazine among others.
Emmet’s photography journey began in Galway, Ireland with a borrowed camera and a great curiosity to capture the personal side of various artists and performers that he knew. He soon moved to London where he began photographing bands, musicians, comedians and actors, as well as honing his craft with street photography and documentary work.
As a filmmaker, Emmet’s work has been screened at The New Jersey Irish Film Festival, Ireland In Our Eyes (London), The Cork Film Festival and The Galway Film Fleadh. Over the past five years, Emmet has envisioned and created numerous documentary and comedy shorts through his company, Waking Hour Films, including an intimate documentary mini-series, ‘Portraits’.
Being a musician and artist himself, Emmet brings a unique awareness and empathy to his visual work. His priority is to create the space and the atmosphere that his subjects need to express themselves and to tell their stories. Emmet is passionate about working together with clients to explore visual concepts and to manifest the deeper ideas behind their creativity.
