Hi, I’m Gavin, a Midlands-based portrait photographer. I’m self taught with over 10 years experience and specialise in intimate portraits with musicians and models. I am currently based in Northampton which is roughly one hour North of London and work on a freelance basis. I’m available for any kind of portrait or people-related project. My regular work includes
Dj / artist press shots, headshots and behind-the-scenes stills.
My Background & what I'm doing now:
I started off in 2007 shooting within the Drum & Bass scene, a scene that played a big part in my life from the early 90’s until today. Jungle / Drum & Bass is a lively, vibrant dance scene with events at dark sweaty clubs and also at large outdoor festivals and arenas. I fast became a well known face within the Drum & Bass world for capturing the raw, uncompromising underground rave scene. This led to me working with the biggest DJ’s, MC’s and record labels in DnB, being resident photographer for Ram Records and going on the road capturing unseen moments with
the biggest DJ of them all, Andy C.
I now work with everyone from the rising talent to more established artists in the UK Garage, Bassline house and Drum & Bass scenes, making portraits for advertising and promotional use.
Aside from commissioned work I’m currently working on several personal projects, one of which is a set of portraits of the people making a difference in my home town. It’s called ‘Place Where We Dwell’ and I plan to have my first solo exhibition at the end of this year.
