Description 2

When most of us are children, we draw on notepads, sheets of blank paper and coloring books with crayons, pencils, pens and markers to pass the time. I never quit.

One Saturday, when I was twelve years old and out hitting up garage sales with my mother and grandmother, we stopped at a drug store, and they purchased an issue of Uncanny X-Men (#311, for the nerds) for me. Thus began a lifelong obsession with comic books. I never wanted to be a writer. I wanted to be an illustrator.

Over the years, I have developed my skills in many ways, whether it was creating artwork to promote my various bands, making and selling independent comics with friends or the 7 years I spent at Nogginlabs (www.nogginlabs.com), first as a storyboard artist then as an illustrator.

My preferred personal style tends to utilize bright, vibrant colors, often with a sheen of grunge and dirt on top of them. My linework is intentionally sketchy, though very detailed, in order to create a sense of life and movement. Often, but not always, I choose to depict animals that fascinate me, whether in portrait or mid-action.

I am available for all types of illustration and design work, including logos, layouts and custom illustrations. Due to my stint at Nogginlabs, I have developed a somewhat chameleon-like ability to work in multiple illustration styles and thrive under any challenge given.

I have also been in the music industry as a singer and guitarist for around twenty years. Most recently, I played in Turnspit, and I have done artwork for the likes of Austin Lucas, Worriers, Lights Over Bridgeport, Punktastic.com, Red Scare Records, Artistic Integrity Records, MPShows and more. I understand the unique needs musicians, labels and the like have from a designer, and I am very passionate about helping artists see the visual side of their identity match the dedication, branding and intensity of their music.
