Biography

Tsepiso Moahloli was born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa, and learned to draw at the age of 4. It was in High School that he honed his talents in art class, learning a variety of styles and using different mediums. He studied Multi Media Design in Damelin College and later Business and Computers where he graduated with a Diploma. His day to day work focuses on digital art and how it reflects on society.

Artist Statement

I draw, paint, and create digital artwork to ground myself. My creations identify me through my culture, thoughts and beliefs. I am a product of my environment and upbringing and my art reflects that. South Africa is a melting pot of diverse people. My designs are inspired by nature and the forms found in the sciences and engineering. Using these basic forms, I work to represent the meeting of art and science. Artists are like magicians. We conjure up worlds into existence by the stroke of our paint brushes.
