Sam found photography through photographing DIY punk gigs in pub basements and clubs around Sheffield. This led to him studying at Newcastle School of Art and Design and then onto a career assisting fine art and advertising photographers.

Shooting on medium format film has influenced Sam’s work, encouraging precise composure and bringing stillness to his images. Always interested in discovering people's stories, Sam's photographic journey is one of making connections and trying to represent people and places in their most honest form.

Consistently working on, and developing his own practice Sam continues to shoot personal projects and commissions in the U.K. and abroad.
