TARIK KARAM is an Arab-American filmmaker based in New York. After graduating from the American Film Institute, he worked side by side with director Stephen Daldry, co-producing and Second Unit directing the Oscar nominated films Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and The Reader.

Since then, his short films have premiered at festivals such as Tribeca and Clermont-Ferrand while also being Vimeo Staff Picks. For Netflix, he has directed a 30-minute award winning gun violence documentary as well as several episodes of a new racing documentary series in partnership with Condé Nast Entertainment.

On the commercial front, Tarik has directed content for The New York Times, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Fiat, and McDonald’s. His work has won Clio, D&AD, and One Show awards.

A few years ago, Tarik produced The House of Tomorrow starring Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn, Nick Offerman, and Asa Butterfield.

Tarik’s screenplays have been selected for Sundance’s Producing Lab, Film Independent’s Screenwriting Lab, awarded as quarter-finalist in the prestigious Nicholl Fellowships, and finalist in American Zoetrope’s Screenplay Competition.
