Hello! I'm Jim McDermott, a NYC based photographer, content creation and marketing consultant specializing in music and entertainment.

I’ve worked for Sony Music, PolyGram, Warner Music, Universal Music Group, Epic and Island Records. On behalf of artist clients, I’ve worked with many other labels, both major and independent. During my career, I've engineered successful grassroots and online marketing campaigns for hundreds of artists including Portishead, Guns & Roses, Depeche Mode, U2, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr, PJ Harvey, Tricky, David Bowie, Philip Glass, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam.

Working as a consultant since 2005, I’ve helped artists and music-oriented startups with digital business development, content creation, marketing, and management of social media platforms. I use my photographic expertise to document the creative process of artists, fashion designers and the street culture of New York City.
