Magazine and posters celebrating the booming sound and roaring culture of Dominican car audio culture. Designed for The New York Times' SURFACING Music feature "When a Minivan Becomes a Music Machine."

The article describes the overall energy of these car stereos and music shows as being very loud and massive and unapologetic, sensory overload to the extreme. To bring this sensory experience to live graphically, eye-straining fluorescent colors defined the color palette used for the print materials. The primary typography was variable typeface Trois Mille from Sharp Type, “designed to take up as much space as possible."
