Finnskogen

Finnskogen

virtual reality installation, 3D scans, photogrammetry, photographs, and audio of Finnskogen historical trail

During an artist residency at the Atelier Austmarka in Austmarka Norway, I collaborated with a resident writer, Auzelle Epeneter, to create this piece reconstructing the nearby Finnskogen (Forest Finn trail). In the forest was a stone bench where travelers would rest and often meet one another, swapping pleasantries and stories. I recreated this area using 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and photography as a virtual reality experience with embedded audio of the writer speaking a piece written about their experience visiting the area to uncover their Forest Finn heritage roots.

This residency was funded by the Marston Science Library at the University of Florida.

The video is a preview because the piece is intended to be viewed through a VR-installation.
