Inspired by my own experience of life, this project focuses on life's unseen changes. I used my own experience of developing epilepsy five years ago with making collages out of my epilepsy journals, I digitized these in order to make them more developed for the eye. I also took the rather sudden passing of my father two years ago into a similar idea but went back to using a mark making technique with intricate line illustrations to represent a timeline and how it wraps around all of us. These two styles both have a place together, both are developed by hand but one is left natural and the other slightly edited to show the process of continual change.

Both of these techniques started from rather sad circumstances but have become almost a therapeutic way to cope with the changes of life and actually develop a style of their own, they are open to interpretation and have an element of mystery to them (obviously if I had not have explained the process behind them it wouldn't be known of the reason behind each process).

Now this work has been developed past it's origin, these are now examples of the open ended style that I use within my work and it is used as reflection on life, not too dark or bleak but just enough to keep us intrigued and that to me is the beauty of art and the use of expression.
