I Just Can't Believe That We Share The Same Name' - The Chase Release

Image

The track is really a sonic representation of the relationship between the band’s two siblings – Tyler and Dion Healey.

Music Video

We decided to try something different and that would ultimately stand out against a typical music video from artists at The Chase’s level. Being of dual heritage, Dion and Tyler have found that their differences in appearance have resulted in them regularly being questioned on how they can be brothers. The video for this track seemed like the perfect opportunity to share some great pictures of the two growing up together.

Following the animation process for lip syncing, we shot individual photographs of the brothers pronouncing phonemes and making expressions. We did the same for the band members Luke and James as well as capturing the brothers interacting.

The photographs, postcards, cork etc were scanned in, while the illustrations were made in procreate.

I took inspiration from paper collage and stop motion illustration videos - one influence in particular was some of the animated cutaways in the Supersonic Documentary.

Spotify Canvas

Using elements from the music video I created a loop from the chorus section for the Spotify Canva.

Artwork

Using family photographs I created a collage style artwork for the single. I wanted to create something that stood out and had an iconic look.

For social media content and press I put together an image of all four band members and photographs from the video.
