Gan-Gan

Short animated documentary.

My grandmother Elizabeth (or Gan-Gan as I called her) was a force of nature; she was wonderful. As a child she seemed to me like a visitor from another time or place. This is a short animation based on her life.

My aim was to capture the essence of her character through some of her possessions along with my own images and to give them a continuing resonance.

It has been screened at several festivals and exhibitions including London Short Film Festival and Nevada City Film Festival, and online with the National Geographic Short Film Showcase.
