Insomnolent

Insomnolent is a collaboration between Emily Bailey Live Visuals and ACRA. Emily Bailey is a moving image artist working with film and digital media to create abstract live visuals for bands and musicians. ACRA is an inventive electronic producer making ambient and washed out beats by fusing vintage sounds and cassette hardware with pristine production.

Insomnolent evokes a synesthetic experience between the visuals and music through the reiterations of colour and texture and through the exploration and merging of analogue and digital media.

Mixture of analogue and digital material:

Analogue: Coloured inks, watercolour paint, pens, lectroset, string, bubbles, found 16mm film footage.

Digital: Landscape footage of snow, trees, ice, clouds, water and close up footage of mouths and motorway lights.

Digitally edited and composited.
