Virgin Records

Virgin Records is a record label and music distributor owned by Universal Music Group. It was originally founded as a British independent record label in 1972 by entrepreneur Richard Branson and grew to be a worldwide success over time.

In 2021, UMG's independent music arm Caroline Distribution was renamed Virgin Music Label & Artists Services with the Virgin Records name continuing to be used by UMG in certain markets such as Germany and Japan.
