Heiko Clothing

Heiko Clothing are a sustainable clothing brand. They approached me and commissioned two custom illustrations based around the western zodiac and the natural world. The two currently released designs represent aquarius and virgo. I had my own direction on this project and really enjoyed the research and historical aspects of these designs.

Aquarius - Based off a painting that hung in my childhood home, Aquarius aligns with the traditional Maori myth of Rona and the moon. The water bearer who is raised into the heavens to become a god.

Virgo - the zodiac equivalent of the Greek goddess Persephone, virgo symbolises innocence, nature and the changing of the seasons. Accompanied by the famous pomegranate given to her by her captor Hades.
