Ligature is the identity given to the placement scheme run by the graphic design course at Falmouth University. Together with Tom Heath & Alex Bassett, we devised a name, visual identity and typographic system to work across two different audiences: the students taking part in placements, and the design studios taking on students.

The bright interconnecting shapes resulted from a series of typographic explorations around the idea of ligatures in their most extreme form. The result is a visual identity that emphasises the connections that a work placement can offer a student, and the gap one can bridge between university and the industry.
