Vista magazine is for and about sight - impaired individuals, giving sighted people a small insight into what it would be like to live with a visual impairment. In the UK alone, there are over 2 million people who have some form of sight loss, and companies are constantly trying to find new ways to improve accessibility, giving independence back to the blind. The app Be My Eyes is an example of this advancing technology, where sight - impaired people can call someone sighted to ask for help with anything. Speaking to a blind user of this app is where my initial inspiration for this issue came about. It was interesting exploring the senses, interpreting both the seen and the unseen, and learning about how the brain adapts to cater for the loss of sight.
