Janeanne Gilchrist is a Photographic artist, Image-maker and Director of Staunch Industries an outdoors lifestyle brand. Currently working and living in Edinburgh Scotland.

I have worked worldwide for a diverse range of advertising agencies, design consultancies, editorial houses and International Art festivals. I have won awards for my past commercial work with appearances in the D&AD and Association of Photographers. My photographs have been published extensively worldwide in a large variety of media above and below the the line - ranging from books, advertising campaigns, magazines marketing and various publications and websites . A full-time professional from graduation in 1996, Janeanne has been frequently mentioned and recognised as an original artist, an innovator in her craft. Presently, shooting with a digital camera, with full working ability in film and mechanical cameras.

As a photographic artist and image maker, my personal work is inspired by people, things and the world around us.

I use photography as a means to document the world around me. I make images that call attention to things that other people overlook. This exploration of the overlooked helps me engage more deeply with where I am in space and time.

I achieve to make photographic works that draw viewers into the now. A focus on details keeps us in the present, it stops us from fretting on the future or regretting the past. My choice of subject comes from many different views, interest and ideas. How we define beauty, and emotional connections. I enjoy finding photographs that capture candid moments.

I document people in their natural environment because I want to preserve moments in time. My recent work I has focused on images that capture mood through light and composition inspired by the moments we lose to memory and function.
