Mickey Strider is a Baltimore, Maryland native transplanted in southern California by way of New York City, Richmond, Virginia + Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
A veteran of 20+ years in the advertising and film production industries, his photographs are regularly exhibited across the US and have been selected and published four years running in the Photographer's Forum Magazine Best Of Photography Annual. His ongoing self-portrait project has also been featured in the Huffington Post Arts + Culture section and several of Mickey's photographs can be seen in the current issue of Change Seven Magazine. Mickey's artwork can be found in the homes of collectors from California and Oregon to New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Canada and Japan. He is a member of the American Photographic Artists organization.
In addition to his photography, Mickey also directed and produced the short film, "Zilch". The film was an Official Selection at over a dozen film festivals across the country including the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, DC International Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, RiverRun Film Festival and the Virginia Film Festival, where Mickey also helped lead a panel on screenwriting. “Zilch” was also screened at the famous Anthology Film Archives in New York City.
Currently residing in San Diego, California, Mickey can usually be found with a camera to his eye along with the never ending drive to create inspiring and moving work. ::
