Photography for tea brand Tahmina International

The word Tahmina is derived from the Persian word tahm, which means "strong and brave." Tea brand Tahmina International seeks to connect small-scale saffron tea farmers in conflict zones with international markets, and promote the strength and bravery of those farmers. The transformative brand is based in Afghanistan and the US, and continues to promotes its motto, "To be brave," to inspire people to take risks, be strong, and strive to bring about change.

With this series of photographs, I wanted to show a different take on "to be brave," one linked with exploration and adventure. I traveled to the cliffs of Étretat in Normandie with a good friend of mine, and since it was our first time there, we set out to explore the area. We passed great cliffs looming over us, at times towering at 300 ft, and made our way up sketchy trails with deep drops on each sides. Through the photographs, I tell the story of our adventure, walking alone in the midst of these chalk giants, braving the heights, to finally enjoy a warm cup of Tahmina tea at the edge of the world.
